Project period: March, 2020- April, 2021
COVAW, with support of Planned Parenthood Global, is implementing a one-year project in Narok County. The goal of the project is to contribute towards the reduction of maternal morbidity and mortality. The objective of the project is to champion for legal and policy reforms to protect and advance the rights of women to access Sexual Reproductive Health Rights (SRHR) in Narok County.
Through use of intergenerational dialogues and bold media engagement, COVAW is demystifying myths, misconception and beliefs that hinder access to SRH services in Narok County as well as advocating for legal and policy reforms that protect and advance the rights of women to access SRH rights.
• Increased influence of county leadership to develop policies and laws that support the rights of women to access SRHR;
• Increased awareness on the barriers women and girls face in accessing SRHR services;
• Increased awareness on dangers of unsafe abortions by community members, skilled health workers and traditional birth attendant;
• Increased contraceptive/family planning uptake by the women, men and girls;
